			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Can anyone find some information about whether the book <span style="text-decoration: underline">A Child Called It</span> and its sequels are real or fake? I&#8217;ve found some information that would point to the latter but I can&#8217;t find any quotes from the author, Dave Pelzer, where he acknowledges they are made up or embellished.</p>
<p>I haven&#8217;t read these myself as they deal with abuse and being the father of two little boys I don&#8217;t think I can stomach them. However, they are wildly popular here at SLMS and it would be interesting to have the conversation about making up works of supposed non-fiction.</p>
