Can anyone find some information about whether the book A Child Called It and its sequels are real or fake? I’ve found some information that would point to the latter but I can’t find any quotes from the author, Dave Pelzer, where he acknowledges they are made up or embellished.

I haven’t read these myself as they deal with abuse and being the father of two little boys I don’t think I can stomach them. However, they are wildly popular here at SLMS and it would be interesting to have the conversation about making up works of supposed non-fiction.

As you can see over on the side bar I now have my Amazon Wish List linked to the blog. So far I only have a couple items there but I intend to add books that I know my students would like to have in the classroom.
