Grading
I grade using a 4.0 grade scale (like a GPA, or grade point average in high school or college).
- A = 3.5-4.0
- A- = 3.2
- B+ = 2.8
- B = 2.5
- B- = 2.2
- C+ = 1.8
- C = 1.5
- C- = 1.2
- D+ = 1
- D = 0.5
- F = 0

Late Work Policy
Late work will be accepted up to 2 weeks late for partial credit. For major assignments, the grade will go down 10% for every day it is late. For smaller assignments, the highest grade possibly when late is a 75% up to the two week cutoff.
If a student has an excused absence they have as many days as they were gone to turn in the assignment for full credit. After that the policy is as above.
Personal
I am a 6th Grade Core teacher at Surprise Lake Middle School. While I’m not teaching reading and writing I like to spend time with my wife, our three boys Oskar, Milo and Theo and our miniature daschund Lola. When the weather isn’t too terrible I like to cycle and have completed the last three Seattle to Portland bike ride events.
